Cirkus: Rajkummar Rao Clears The 'Misunderstanding'; Reveals Ranveer Singh And Rohit Shetty Starrer Was NEVER Offered To Him
Rajkummar Rao recently revealed that he was never offered Cirkus starring Ranveer Singh but he would love to work with Rohit Shetty if given an opportunity
Not so long ago, it was confirmed that Rohit Shetty and Ranveer Singh are indeed coming together for the third time after Simmba and Sooryavanshi for the remake of the film Angoor. Presented by Bhushan Kumar and Reliance Entertainment, the film titled Cirkus is Rohit Shetty's adaptation of The Comedy of Errors. The film will see Ranveer Singh and Varun Sharma in double roles. Nevertheless, according to Bollywood Hungama Varun was not their first choice but was their third choice. Interestingly, the makers wanted Rajkummar Rao to play the second lead but he refused to play the second fiddle to Ranveer Singh’s character. Now, reacting to these rumours, Rajkummar took to his Twitter handle and cleared the misunderstanding by revealing that he was never offered the film.
He even mentioned that he has no idea about the film, Cirkus but also asserted that he would love to work with Rohit Shetty if there's an exciting opportunity. He tweeted, "Hi guys, there is some misunderstanding because I have no idea about Cirkus as it was never offered to me. I have no idea where this news came from. I would love to work with Rohit sir whenever there is an exciting opportunity. Peace out." Apparently, after Rajkummar Rao, the second choice was Ayushmann Khurrana's brother Aparshakti Khurana who also turned down the offer, citing date issues.
Talking about the cast of the film, apart from Ranveer Singh, Cirkus boasts of some excellent and stellar actors like Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandes, Varun Sharma, Siddhartha Jadhav, Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Vrajesh Hirjee, Vijay Patkar, Sulbha Arya, Mukesh Tiwari, Anil Charanjeett, Ashwini Kalsekar, and Murli Sharma. Reportedly, Cirkus is set to go on floors next month and will be shot in Mumbai, Ooty, and Goa.
